“The Girard Reader” provides relatively short and condensed texts related to the “Mimetic Theory” developed by René Girard. Those texts demand a certain mastery of that theory to be fully understood, since they aim at bringing the reflexion further than just applying the theory to an infinity of examples.
Occasionally though, and upon request by readers, more introductory texts may be presented. A very short introduction is already available by clicking the link right under the title.
Original texts will be posted in English, but quotes taken from interviews or books will respect the original language they were using. Knowledge of French is then an asset, although Google Translate might help. When possible, both translations will be provided.
